PhysioFunction IT Case Study
Posted on 19th January 2021 at 11:55
PhysioFunction offers physiotherapy and rehabilitation services for clients with complex neurological conditions, including MS, Stroke and Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury.
We have been supporting PhysioFunction with all their IT support since 2006. When we were first introduced to Jon Graham at PhysioFunction, they were a team of 5 physiotherapists and now have a team of 25, supporting clients from their 2 clinics and several community bases.
Remote Working for Employees
During this time, we supported them with creating an Intranet, remote access for their remote workers and email handling, including remote access to emails. These systems were put in place before Office 365 was launched and before remote access was a common option for businesses. We have also supported and set up On-Site Servers and since migrated them to Cloud Servers.
We also provide all of their business PCs, after fully understanding the requirements as not all PCs need to have the same capabilities. They are also on an IT Maintenance Contract client, ensuring that their IT keeps working so that they can.
COVID PCR screening
After the first lockdown was lifted in 2020 they approached a local lab to provide COVID PCR screening for their physiotherapists and wider team. They felt that it was essential that both their team and their clients felt secure in the knowledge that they were in a safe environment.
They soon also offered the service to their clients upon request. In September with the increase of required testing the Government were finding it hard to keep up with the volume. At this point, following increasing requests for private testing, PhysioFunction contacted their lab and asked whether they would be able to collaborate to help with private testing, the lab was more than happy to help as they were receiving increasing requests for private testing, which was something that they were unable to offer.
They now also offer Fitness to Fly Certification.
Due to the success of their private PCR Screening, PhysioFunction were approached by researchers asking whether they would be able to assist with an audit trial for the COVID-19 testing.
The Audit Trial helps monitor the effectiveness of the Government testing and PhysioFunction are looking for 1000 volunteers to take part in the study. They are looking for 500 volunteers from Northamptonshire to take part at their Long Buckby Clinic and 500 volunteers at their location in Central London.
The Audit Trial will require volunteers to take three COVID-19 tests, one after the other at one of the two clinics and should only take about 15 minutes to complete and is totally free of charge. Participants who test positive will be offered a FREE antibody test after 28 days to confirm the presence or absence of antibodies to the coronavirus.
