Hard Drive Issue
Tracy from TJ Marketing contacted us as her laptop had broken, it wouldn’t turn on and was a number of years old. All her business documents, including client information were stored on the laptop and not backed up externally. Although Tracy had access to another computer, she was unable to run her business without access to the files.
Hard Drive Resolution
After collecting the laptop and investigating the issue, we found that her hard drive had failed, but everything else was in working order. We sourced a replacement hard drive, which arrived the following day to replace the failed one. With the aid of our recovery software, we were able to recover all the data hard drive. As there was not a backup of the operating system, we were also able to recover a copy of this. We reinstalled the operating system, all the programs that were originally installed and saved a copy of all the files from the old hard drive.
We also recommended that going forward Tracy saved all documents to the cloud and recommended using OneDrive as Tracy had a large storage limit already with her Office 365 package.
Tracy was only without her laptop for two days, allowing her to lose minimal business time.
